One of the last major polls before Britain’s EU referendum results have put Remain in the lead with 52 per cent, according to a poll conducted by Ipsos Mori for the Evening Standard.

The Leave camp is on 48 per cent, and has slipped by 5 points since the previous Ipsos phone poll last week. Today’s survey was conducted over June 21-22.

Betting odds on Betfair’s exchange also suggest an 84 per cent chance of the result being Remain.

The pound has swept up to a new high for the day against the dollar above $1.49.
