When it comes to investing, we should grab anything the government gives us for free with both hands. But if you are in a muddle when it comes to understanding the value of tax-free allowances, a free one-hour webinar and Q&A is for you.

Claer Barrett, the FT’s consumer editor and author of the Sort Your Financial Life Out newsletter series, will lead a live jargon-free discussion showcasing how tax savings on your investments can add up.

Guest experts Moira O’Neill, the FT’s personal finance columnist, and Timi Merriman-Johnson, the financial adviser better known online as Mr MoneyJar, will respond to reader questions live.

This free-to-attend webinar will take place at 12.30pm on Thursday March 14; the week after the UK Budget and three weeks before the end of the tax year. The panel will cover how to invest in stocks and shares Isas, the Lifetime Isa for under-40s and Junior Isas for under-18s — and how the tax savings on offer with Isas compare to pensions.
