Alain Fayolle is a professor of entrepreneurship and the founder and director of the entrepreneurship research centre at EM Lyon Business School.

Prof Fayolle has leadership experience in France and internationally. In French-speaking, European and Mediterranean countries, he is helping to structure the field of entrepreneurship: designing research programmes, supervising PhD students, advising policymakers and university deans and training teachers, trainers and researchers.

Prof Fayolle’s research interests include a range of entrepreneurship topics: education and training; corporate entrepreneurship; new venture creation process; family entrepreneurship; opportunity and necessity entrepreneurship. He has had more than 20 books and 100 articles in leading international and French-speaking scientific journals published. Among his editorial positions, he is notably an associate editor of JSBM and an editor of two leading French-speaking journals. He has been visiting professor at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
