Richard Cotton, former head of real estate at JPMorgan Cazenove, has taken his first non-executive position on the board of Hansteen Holdings, the industrial property investment group. A respected figure in the property industry, Mr Cotton left Caz – where his last deal was the £750m ($1,192m) Land Securities rights issue – in 2009 after 22 years to become managing director of Forum Partners, the investment manager.

As part of a bolstering of Hansteen’s board following its move from Aim to the main market and conversion into a real estate investment trust last year, Mr Cotton will be joined by Humphrey Price, a director of London & Stamford Property, a property investment company. Hansteen also appointed Richard Lowes as finance director.
