The New England Patriots have staged a remarkable comeback to win their fifth Super Bowl in the first championship to be decided during overtime.

The Pats won 34-28, with a pass from renowned quarterback Tom Brady finding running back James White to complete perhaps the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history.

This is the fifth Super Bowl ring for the team, with all titles won since head coach Bill Belichick and Brady arrived in 2000.

The two teams finished regulation time in Super Bow LI tied at 28-28. The Falcons had gone to half time ahead 21-3 and had at one point been up by as much as 25 points.

It was the Falcons’ first appearance in a Super Bowl since 1999, when they lost to the Denver Broncos.
