Mark Esposito is an associate professor of business and society in the department of People, Organisations and Society at Grenoble School of Management in France and a member of the faculty at Harvard University since 2011.

At Harvard, Prof Esposito teaches systems thinking and complexity management to professionals from all industries for the Harvard extension school and the summer school. He is the founding director of the Lab-Center for Competitiveness, a think-tank affiliated with the microeconomics of competitiveness network at Harvard Business School, which studies competitiveness as a bottom-up approach towards the creation of equality in society. Through the Lab-Center, Prof Esposito has worked extensively on the topics of the creation of prosperity and sustainable business practices.

Prof Esposito consults in the area of corporate sustainability and sustainable strategies worldwide and is vice-president of the Institute for Transformative Thought & Learning, a Phoenix-based research think-tank that deals with transformational, human and organisational congruence issues.

He is a fellow of the Center for Business and Sustainability at Ashridge Business School as well as a member of the visiting faculty for the University of Cambridge masters in sustainable leadership. He is the author and co-author of eight books and more than 20 published case studies, and is a regular guest editor on academic journals. His academic work appears regularly in the Academy of Management, as well as in Harvard Business Review.

With a grounding in humanities and the economics of strategy, Prof Esposito has a BA and MA in human and social studies from the University of Turin in Italy, a MBA in organisational theory from Columbia Southern University and a doctorate in international business and management from the International School of Management, on a joint programme with St. John’s University in New York City. From 2009 to 2011, he attended post-doctoral education at Harvard Business School.
