Every Thursday, a business school professor, an expert in his or her field, will define five key terms on FT Lexicon, our online economics, business and finance glossary.

Claude Revel is professor of economic intelligence and director of the masters programme in Competitive Intelligence and Knowledge Management at Skema. She chairs the Skema Expert Centre in Economic Intelligence.

Prof Revel holds a diploma from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration, an MSc in political science from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and an MA in Business Law from Paris II University.

Prof Revel has eight years of teaching experience - before joining Skema, she was a lecturer at numerous French business schools and universities.

She created the Economic Intelligence Masters in Algiers in co-operation with the Algerian University UFC.

Prof Revel began her career as a civil servant in the French administration (working in the ministries of construction, external trade, and foreign affairs). She was also director-general of the World Confederation of Contractors. Prof Revel has her own international consulting firm.
