My personal style signifier is a Breton top. I grew up in the south of France, where people wear the marinière all the time; it has been my go-to from a young age. I have a collection of about 15 of them, but my favourite is a simple, long-sleeved cotton version by Chanel. chanel.com

The last item of clothing I bought and loved was an oversized Burberry trench coat in khaki. I’d been looking for one for a while, but I wanted something a bit different from the classic beige and had seen this style on one of my friends in Paris. Similar from £62; vestiairecollective.com

The items of clothing I’ll keep to pass on are my mum’s Alaïa pieces from the ’80s, including a blue denim suit with super-huge shoulders, very fitted at the waist. I barely wear it, but I love it because it represents my childhood. maison-alaia.com

The best souvenir I’ve brought home recently is an incredible feather crown from Brazil, where they were made for weddings. I bought it from a friend of my brother who was moving and he couldn’t take it with him. It’s such a beautiful object.

My style icons are Vanessa Paradis and Sofia Coppola – strong, low-key, smart women. They have different styles, but in both cases it’s simple, chic and effortless. I love people who don’t look as if they work on their style, even if they obviously do.

Comfort Woman by Meshell Ndegeocello
Comfort Woman by Meshell Ndegeocello

The last albums I bought were Jamie Cullum’s Catching Tales and Meshell Ndegeocello’s Comfort Woman. When I lived in London I went to Ronnie Scott’s a lot. Jazz reminds me of that time. ronniescotts.co.uk

The one artist whose work I would collect if I could is Pierre Soulages, specifically his Outrenoir [“Beyond Black”] paintings. He only uses black paint, but manages to create light: it’s an amazing thing to see. My husband Michael bought me a small piece, but I do love his huge paintings, which are completely unaffordable.

The best book I’ve read in the past year is Powerful by Patty McCord, who was head of talent at Netflix – it’s full of tips that I have shared with my team. She explains how people are more important than anything else in an organisation.

The accessory I’m eyeing next is a vintage edition of the little Constance bag from Hermès. I am very specific in my tastes and I want one in navy-blue canvas, edged in tan leather. I’ve been looking for months, but they are not easy to find. hermes.com

Miraval rosé wine
Miraval rosé wine

In my fridge you’ll always find seasonal, organic vegetables. Since we’ve been in Hong Kong, we have lots of exotic fruits – mangosteen, pineapple and dragonfruits. And there is always wine. I like Miraval rosé, as it’s easy to drink and the bottle is beautiful. From £19.99; miraval.com

An unforgettable place I’ve travelled to in the past year is Sri Lanka. I fell in love with it. We stayed at the Heritance Tea Factory, a beautiful hotel in a Nuwara Eliya plantation, where we could watch the sun rising and the women picking tea in the fields. From £109; heritancehotels.com

La Fromagerie in London’s Marylebone
La Fromagerie in London’s Marylebone

If I had to limit my shopping to one neighbourhood in one city, I’d choose Marylebone, which was where I hung out when I lived in London. We often went to La Fromagerie for bread, cheeses and ham. I rarely shop in physical stores for fashion, but I like the selection at Matchesfashion.com. lafromagerie.co.ukmatchesfashion.com

My favourite room in my house is the kitchen. My family is from the south of France but with Spanish roots, and food is so important for us – it’s the link between people. We recently moved to Stanley on the south side of Hong Kong, where we are renting a house. It reminds me of London, and while it’s not the most amazing kitchen I’ve ever had, it’s bright and familial and I enjoy spending time there.

The accessories I would never part with are my Cartier Tank ring and the Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace that Michael gave me for the births of my two daughters. They are engraved with their names and birthdays and are very precious. Ring, from £1,900; cartier.co.uk. Necklace, from £4,450; vancleefarpels.com

The best gift I’ve given recently was a special vintage Rolex watch to Michael for his 45th birthday. It’s from 1962 and so elegant, with the flat design of the old models and a beige face with Roman numerals. rolex.com.

The best gift I’ve received recently was a surprise dinner made by my daughters. My husband was travelling on my birthday, but when I came home from work they were waiting for me. They had put candles and flowers everywhere and served lasagne and wine. The way they did it and the effort they put in was an amazing surprise.

The people I rely on for personal grooming and wellbeing include David Mallett in Paris, for my hair – his main salon is in a beautiful apartment decorated with taxidermy and the team is lovely; it feels like a family, but at the same time it’s very professional. For facials, my go-to is Olivia from Joëlle Ciocco, who comes to my hotel and gives me a treatment using essential oils and deep-tissue massage. In Hong Kong, I go to Flex Studio multiple times a week to get my endorphins going – I’m a big fan of TRX and Pilates – and I also work with a great acupuncturist called Annie Wong when I am tired or need to relax. HK$200 per needle; Annie Wong, Virtue Herbal Medication Health Centre, Unit 11/f Park Commercial Centre, 180 Tung Lo Wan Rd, Tin Hau, Hong Kong. Cuts from £250; David Mallett, 14 Rue Notre Dame des Victoires, 75002 Paris (david-mallett.com). Flex Studio, 3/f Man Cheung Building, 15-17 Wyndham St, Hong Kong (flexhk.com). Signature facial, £570; Joëlle Ciocco, 8 Place de la Madeleine, 75008 Paris (joelle-ciocco.com).

Aime French Glow capsules
Aime French Glow capsules

A recent “find” is Aime, a new boutique in Paris that sells amazing capsules of plant extracts, vitamins and probiotics created with nutritionist Valérie Espinasse. They give you a fantastic glow. aime.co

An indulgence I would never forgo is my weekly home massages with my favourite masseuse, Janet Drewery. It’s a habit I started in London and it’s a nice moment to transition between the weekend and the working week, which you can then enter, energised. +852-9507 2130.

The beauty staples I’m never without are Joëlle Ciocco’s Crème Emulsionnante cleanser and Mat Reverser cream, a complexion-correcting treatment that really suits my skin. I love Caudalie’s Huile Premier Cru, a beautiful multipurpose facial oil, and have used YSL Volume Effet mascara and Laura Mercier concealer for years. I have a basic routine and I don’t deviate from it. Caudalie Huile Premier Cru facial oil, £49 for 29ml; caudalie.com. Joëlle Ciocco Crème Emulsionnante, €62 for 50ml, and Mat Reverser, €128 for 30ml; joelle-ciocco.com. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer, $35; lauramercier.com. YSL Volume Effet mascara, £26; yslbeauty.com

The last meal that truly impressed me was at Ecriture in Hong Kong. It was opened late last year by Maxime Gilbert and awarded two Michelin stars a couple of months later. The food is French with an Asian twist and it’s mind-blowing – especially the Hokkaido scallops layered with black truffle and seaweed. It’s an incredible experience as it’s in Central with a view right over the city. lecomptoir.hk/ecriture

If I didn’t live in Hong Kong, the city I would live in is London. I was sad to leave; we had the most amazing time and it feels like home to my kids. Roka was one of my go-to restaurants for the delicious Japanese food. And for groceries, Whole Foods Market. I had one close by, and would always go there for vegetables and fresh juices: I’ve missed it since moving to Hong Kong. Gail’s Kitchen has the best bread, and we love Chinatown, specifically the Golden Dragon for its Peking duck. Gail’s Kitchen, 35-37 Parkway, London NW1 (gailsbread.co.uk). Golden Dragon, 28-29 Gerrard St, London W1 (gdlondon.co.uk). Roka, 37 Charlotte St, London W1 (rokarestaurant.com). Whole Foods Market, 49 Parkway, London NW1 (wholefoodsmarket.co.uk).

If I weren’t doing what I do, I would be a photographer, chef or interior designer. When I was a child, my mother would always make us stop and look at everything around us, and I think it opened my eyes to the simple but beautiful things in life.

My favourite website and app are Ohmycream.com, for a really great selection of beauty products, and Relive, an app that tracks journeys in 3D. In Hong Kong, we like to hike at weekends, and it allows you to add photos as you go along and makes a video of your trip. ohmycream.comrelive.cc.
